Making Wollert your new local – Melbourne’s up-and-coming Northern Hub

A developing suburb in the northern corridor of Melbourne, Wollert has everything to offer. It is surrounded by great established amenity and infrastructure from neighbouring suburbs Craigieburn, Epping, Mernda and South Morang – you will never be far from everyday convenience.

1. Your Everyday
  • 6km from Epping
  • 7km from Mernda
  • 9km from South Morang
  • 10km from Craigieburn
  • 29 km from Melbourne CBD

Wollert is in close proximity to major convenience centres and a short drive to Epping Plaza or Westfield Lower Plenty. Get through your weekly grocery shop with ease and buy from all your favourite retailers.

There are also great options for dining with a wealth of restaurants and cafes nearby – take your pick for your next latte or try a new cuisine from the diverse cultures of the neighbourhood.

The City Of Whittlesea also has plans for a Wollert Major Town Centre with key components including two supermarkets and a discount department store, with an additional two Local Town Centres – one in the North which will be included as part of The Patch and the other located in the south west.

2. Health and Well-being

With the Northern Hospital only 7km away and a number of established local medical centres, your family’s healthcare needs will be taken care of.

The Patch itself will also have both active and passive open space to enjoy kicking a soccer ball around with your family and connected walking and cycling paths to enjoy your daily stroll or bike ride.

You can also put together a picnic and enjoy the preserved heritage and natural environment of the existing River Red Gum trees and dry stone walls.

3. Education and childcare

Wollert has great access to schools and childcare with St Monica’s College, Epping Views Primary School and Rose Garden Epping Early Learning Centre – just to name a few.

The Patch will also have a future government P-12 school adjoining the community and within the proposed local community centre will offer support services such as maternal health, childcare and a kindergarten.

4. Roads and Rail

There are approved plans to improve the roads, with The Northern Road Upgrade expected to start construction next year in 2020.

As part of this upgrade they will:

  • Add an extra lane in each direction to Epping Road in Epping, between Craigieburn Road East and Memorial Avenue
  • Add an extra lane in each direction to Bridge Inn Road in Doreen, between Plenty Road and Yan Yean Road, with a new bridge over Plenty River
  • Add an extra lane in each direction along Craigieburn Road in Craigieburn, between Mickleham Road and the Hume Highway

There is also land set aside for the future extension of the Epping Rail Corridor and a future train station in the heart of Wollert.
